AOF INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The AOF Internship program is a wonderful opportunity for employers to give local students a chance to work in the “real world.” It provides the students the ability to determine if the field of study is the right one for them. The AOF program shows the employers the potential of the local students.
TESTIMONIALS
What employers say about the AOF Internship Program
"In the four years UPS has participated in the program, we have had four quality individuals come from the program. Each has come well prepared and worked extremely well with the existing workforce. I believe this program is a critical step in the development of tomorrow’s financial professionals and look forward to working with another quality AOF student in 2006."
John Wakefield, Finance Manager, UPS
"Patrick, our intern, did a fantastic job with our members and supported the operations of the branch during summer vacations. I was so impressed with Patrick and the Academy that I will be volunteering next season in the program and look forward to working with a new intern."
Mary Johnson, Branch Manager, Lockheed Federal Credit Union
"The AOF Internship Program is a great opportunity to expose highly motivated and talented individuals to real world business experiences. The interns are eager to learn, willing to help and interested in what the organization does in the financial service sector. I wish I had a similar program offered to me when I was in high school."
Erik Swanson, Director of Operational Controls, Fidelity Investments

Your Participation Counts
Dear Colleague:
I am seeking your support to expand internship opportunities in our community. The Academy of Finance is a nationally acclaimed, curriculum model sponsored by the National Academy Foundation. The objective of the academy is to prepare a talented and motivated pool of high school students for positions in the financial services industry.
Academy students take a series of specifically designed courses during their junior and senior years to prepare them for work in the financial services industry. One important component is a summer paid internship between their junior and senior year. Employers continuously comment on the high quality of work and preparedness of Academy interns.
The students are required to complete 150 hours at a rate of 7.50-8.50 per hour to receive their Certificate of Financial Studies. Employers would pay 7.50-8.50 per hour x 150 hours or $1125.00-$1275.00. There is flexibility with hours and dates. A pre-placement committee will interview students and match students' skills and interests to employers' needs.
